It is difficult to ascertain the degree of lineage continuity between the new "aristocracy" and traditional noble families. Nevertheless it would seem the new elites lack the code of honor of their predecessors. In Visconti's superb movie The Tigercat it is remarked at some point that "there must be change in order for things to remain the same," (or words to that effect, I do not recall the precise formulation).
That satement reminds me of Sarkozy in some Palast presentation, around 2008, I think, saying the words: métissage obligatoire, needless to say I fell out of my chair afterwards, Grüß Gott!
