Reaching for the Moon
Hans Vogel argues that EU politicians, led by the Germans, are as ambitious as the pioneers of the space age. The main difference is that the former lack a sense of reality.
The news that comes out of Europe these days may cause some sort of amazement, tinged with incredulity, as did the news from the dawn of the Space Age. Everything that happened then, beginning with the launch of the world’s first orbiting satellite Sputnik I in 1957, seemed right out of a fairy tale.
Europe, or rather the European Union, proudly upholding what it claims to be its “values,” is still capable of surprising the rest of the world, often leaving it speechless. In the past this would often be because of the unbelievable splendor of works of art created by Europe’s great artists, composers and writers. Those days lie far behind us. Amidst the ever greater hordes of Soros-sponsored half-literate, violent invaders from Africa and the Middle-East, there are too few Europeans left who, even if they had the talent, would dare devote their time and energy to create notable works of art. As a matter of fact, below the surface of an apparent kind of opulence, a battle for survival is raging, with the European regimes and their police forces always on the side of the dusky invaders.
About a half century ago, the EU Commissars in Brussels as well as most member state regimes embarked on a policy leading to the elimination of the middle class. However, most Europeans still fail to realize that socially, Europe is being brought back to the Middle Ages, with a highly privileged “nobility” and a mass of poor urban workers and farmers. There will only be very little room for a modern version of the old clergy, composed of a very select group of technicians and computer nerds. Thus, across the board in today’s Europe, social misery and abject poverty are growing fast.
Currently, the backbone of those destructive policies is the Green Agenda, also known as the “Green New Deal.” These are just socially acceptable and politically correct synonyms for what actually is just climate lunacy. With Donald Trump now as US President, the EU regime has decided to double down on its climate lunacy worship. At the same time, citing all sorts of urgencies and dangers lurking ahead, the EU regime is clinging to power with all its claws.
Yet there is an even greater danger. In line with its apparent mental deficiencies, the EU regime has now also decided to play tough in the Ukraine issue. There is a lot of talk of “shared values” and a “moral duty” to stand by the little Ukrainian comedian playing the role of president. In the heat of their wild claims and exaggerated statements on military prowess, EU member state leaders display a shocking lack of insight and knowledge. EU member states France and Germany and their NATO partner England were indeed once great powers. But that was about a century ago. The current regimes in those nations still seem to believe they are in the same league as Russia, the US and China. Perhaps this delusion stems from the fact that Europe has long been the center of a great civilization that spread across the planet.
The decision to play tough in the Ukraine issue is more than just delusional: it constitutes a grave danger for most Europeans. To put it simply, in deciding to support the Ukrainian regime all the way, the EU Commissars are set on a collision course with both Russia and the US. The last time a European leader decided to fight both the Russians and the Americans at the same time it did not end well for millions of Europeans. This was when in December 1941, Adolf Hitler declared war on the US, after he had invaded the USSR six months earlier.
Unlike Hitler, the EU Commissars did not take into consideration basic geopolitical facts nor any logical reasoning. Most notably, in their bellicose verbiage, they are ignoring the fact that without US leadership and participation, the EU/NATO is just unable to field the forces required for facing Russia, let alone stand any chance to defeat Russia. Some say, however, that the EU Russian policy, consisting of strong language and sabre rattling, was formulated in the US by the Heritage Foundation, and that the supine EU Commissars are duly carrying out orders from Washington. Please not that no one has ever been able to accuse the Heritage Foundation, or any other influential “think tank” of having an acute historical consciousness.
Given the present-day apparent gynecocracy in the EU, it is hardly surprising that the least talented women (and I am not referring to cooking and cleaning skills) seem to be calling the shots among the Commissars. As long as their hairdo is in order, they go for it, making the most outrageous and idiotic statements and decisions. Not knowing history, they are now actually following in the footsteps of Adolf Hitler, who is no less than the devil himself both in their own eyes and those of the current European regimes.
Unfortunately, idiocy is not the exclusive domain of the EU Commissars. The new German government, led by Blackrock stooge Friedrich Merz, that is being constituted as we speak, will outperform them and that is no mean feat! The new government will have the same ideological stance as the previous cabinet, despite the resounding success of the “far right” AfD party in the latest elections.
Under preceding regimes, a very rigid censorship has been rolled out in Germany, targeting any and all unwelcome commentaries from outside the MSM and the state-run radio and TV stations. Social media are now also under close scrutiny. Whoever posts a message deemed improper by the state (for “hate speech” for instance) will have the Police knocking at his door. Very much like in the good old days from 1933 to 1945.
However, unlike classic dictatorships and assorted authoritarian regimes, that tend to formulate strict guidelines for what truths are allowed to be uttered in public, the new German government has decided on an opposite strategy: making it illegal to publish and spread LIES! In other words, lying will be officially outlawed and special legislation is going to be drafted for the purpose.
Since lying is quite popular and widespread, it is easily foreseeable that the Police and the judicial system will have their hands full in tracing and punishing the biggest liars. Because, let’s be honest here, the small fry will get a reprimand and warning. Now, apart from used-car salesmen, which group of people enjoy the unenviable reputation of being the biggest liars? Well, of course, politicians!
Would they be prosecuted under the new laws? That is doubtful, to say the least. After all, stealing is not allowed either, nor are entrapment, swindling and embezzlement. Which group of people tends to distinguish itself while engaging in these activities? Again, politicians!
Apart from all the criticism, one might also admire the new German government for initiating legislation outlawing a basic human pastime. This ambitious project is surely in the same league as putting a man on the moon.
But wait a minute, did they ever?
